These are photos of me saving my artwork. I had to dry it on plastic garbage bags all around my house. 

Katrina 10- Firebird

I rescued this painting from my art closet after Katrina. The bird represent the Firebird from the famous story.

Katrina 10- Mardi Gras Women

I love Mardi Gras it is a part of the culture of New Orleans. If you look close you can see a Fleur  De Lis.

I completed this painting as part of a painting course,
that I taught at the JCC. I love the light from the windows.

Here they are dancing on the beach everything in the painting moves with the water.

I have always watch the place where the water meets the sky.  In this painting Bound Together you will see things flying are they angels or birds?

This  is "The Woman in Question." I started drawing these woman in high school and still do.

This painting blends the sky and the earth. This is titled Clouds moving. I exhibited this painting in several galleries in New Orleans.

This is titled Moment.  This represents the time when the water carries us forward.

This painting is called Mardi Gras. After Katrina people would want to know have you lost everything? My answer was you can never loss everything. I always wondered how could you ask 

someone you didn't know that question.

This from an exhibit at the CAC. It was an exhibit regarding the controversy about  Columbus and his visit to America.

This painiting is called Yellow Wind Storm.  I saved this painting from my flooded art closet.

Katrina 10 - Painting of Audubon Park

When I lived in New Orleans my daughters would go to Audubon Park to play. They went to Audubon Montessori School which is located near the park. Also I taught an art class and my students and painted art at the park. If you look you can see my daughter playing the violin in the park.

I painted this painting when I first moved to New Orleans in  Lafreniere Park in  Metairie.

 When it was beginning built. This painting is called "Couple."

Katrina Family Painted almost 10 years ago. I was having a hard time painting and finshed this several months after Katrina.

Katrina Lost Painting

I am here in Louisiana visiting and revisiting some memories. Here is a painting lost during Katrina.
After Katrina I had to liberate my artwork from my waterlogged  art closet their waterlogged  frames. I lost this painting to the process. It is called Blues and is set in the apartment building where I grew up in Brooklyn New York.
